To put it simply

These good people feel that there is an almost indecent nakedness, a reversion to barbarism, in saying No news is good news instead of The absence of intelligence is an indication of satisfactory developments. Nevertheless, The year's penultimate month is not in truth a good way of saying November.

So... I'm back to posting again. 'Nuff said.

  1. Back in the eighties, I was in a school play in which one of the songs contained the line "no news is bad news" from a journalist's perspective. If I remember correctly, the song went something like:

    "No news is bad news.
No news means no talking heads.
Because if we've got no news for the station to use
    Then we're better off dead.
    "

(I didn't sing it. My class wasn't in that scene.)
